Neck Pain Relief tips

1. Sit tall; lines up all sensitive structures in a neutral position

2. Retract chin; will use strong neck stabilizers properly

3. Do not sit for too long; these muscles and discs and joints stay soft and happy with motion

4. Keep shoulder blades strong; if any fail we react with neck muscles that over contract

5. Walk with body not legs;i.e. long stride pumps neck muscles and keeps them supple

6. Pull shoulder blades back and down; will relax reactive neck muscles

7. Do not strain eyes; this will cause a forward head carriage and reactive shutting-off of some key neck stabilizers

8. Manage stress; stress causes a forward head carriage and reactive shutting-off of some key neck stabilizers

9. Walk with supportive shoes; if feet react to lack of support then muscles up the body also react including in the neck
10.avoid deep/repeated neck flexion; stresses the discs in the neck
